PlayDLY
Delays That Obey You, Not the ClockPlayDLY is the first delay that lets you play your echoes like an instrument – triggering exactly the delay you need, when you need it, instead of being trapped by endless repetition.

Every delay forces you into the same trap: repetitive echoes that either serve your song or don’t. There’s no middle ground, no creative control once you hit
that pedal.
PlayDLY gives you complete creative control over your delay. Want a single, perfectly-timed echo? Play it. Want evolving delay textures that build and release?
Craft them. Want delays that complement your melody instead of competing with it? Shape them exactly as you envision.
It’s not about rhythm – it’s about creative freedom. PlayDLY puts you in control of every single delay.
Finally
A delay that does exactly what you want, when you want it – no more being trapped by repetitive patterns. Traditional delays lock you into endless repetition. Set a delay time, and you’re stuck with the same echo bouncing back forever, whether it serves your music or not. PlayDLY breaks that cycle.
What PlayDLY does for you:
- Play your delays like an instrument – Trigger exactly the delay you need, precisely when you need it
- Escape repetitive delay patterns – Each echo can be different, purposeful, and musical
- Shape delays in real-time – No more “set it and forget it” – craft delays that evolve with your performance
- Create precise delay textures – Build exactly the sonic landscape you hear in your head
- Stop fighting your delay pedal – Finally, a delay that responds to your creative vision instead of forcing you into its rhythm
PlayDLY is currently in beta testing
PlayDLY will be available in VST and AU plugin format for MacOSX. I may also compile a Windows version, but need testers willing to try it first, as I do not have a Win-based computer available.
I am currently testing and developing PlayDLY using Abelton Life 12, but there is no reason why it could not work in other DAWs supporting MIDI sending to plugins. I’ll update the list of compatible DAWs and OSs later, along with installation and operating instructions. But first: coding…
