About Marc
Photopgrapher, Videographer, Musician and much more…
This is Marc
Marc was born in Germany in 1970, early enough to know Vinyl, analogue photography and real Rock music, father of two, husband, entrepreneur, pianist, producer, recording artist, photographer, videographer, developer, positive soul and – last but not least – a possibilitarian by heart.
His main interests in music lie in bending the rules and experimenting with sounds and rhythms. The acoustic piano is his favourite instrument, but he loves to pair it with modular synthesizers and off-the-mainstream playing techniques. When Marc is in the room, you need to throw your habits overboard and be ready to be challenged in an artistic way.
Curious? Want to know more?
Well, it took me a while to find out what to do with my life. I started playing acoustic guitar with 10, discovered the piano and jazz music with 15, explored the Chapman Stick with 28. My love for photography began in the new millennium using medium format film and a Lomo camera, switching to digital a few years later.
I was co-founder and CEO of a company for industrial optical components since 1994, a job I did for 27 years. I co-founded a multimedia agency in 1998 and developed for them for a few years.
In the last 30 years, I played and recorded music with several well-known musicians, like Markus Stockhausen, Mike Keneally, Peter Hammill. My photography projects gave me access to artists like Steven Wilson, Joe Satriani, Al Di Meola, Tony Levin, John Scofield, Nils Landgren, Mike Stern, Peter Erskine, Steve Gadd, Bob Mintzer and Dennis Chambers, to name just a few.
A new chapter in my life started in 2021, when I left Germany with my family, leaving my own company with all its securities but also leaving the responsibilities behind. Using the brand “Algarve Sound & Vision”, I now want to work exclusively as a freelancer and concentrate on the things in life that I am good at and that I enjoy: music, photography, videography and programming. I think this is best concept for excellent work.
So thanks for your interest – let’s work together!
No matter how dark things seem to be or actually are, raise your sights and see the possibilities – always see them, for they’re always there.
